Part of the mass unemployment in Mega-City One is due to many companies hiring robot staff over humans due to them being far cheaper to operate. The Robot Army, led by cyborg Nero Nacros was defeated by Judge Dredd and a group of fellow Judges. Years later a second Robot War broke out, resulting in a large number of Judges being killed. Walter's entire group was quickly dismantled however and Walter was shot to pieces (But rebuilt later on). Years later a second robot war was nearly caused at the hands of Walter the Wobot, a Servo-Droid that originally helped stop Kenneth. In 2099 the first Robot War erupted when an uprising led Call-Me-Kenneth sent the city into meltdown. President Booth would use an army of robots dubbed " The Legion of the Dammed" as defence when the Judicial forces attempted to arrest him, resulting in a small scale civil war. Many were built to handle various menial tasks, but their uses varied over time as more were built. Judge dredd is infinitely closer to the comics than Dredd which is essentially Apocalypse Cop. 1995 was a typical Arnold jr., I mean Stallone, one-liner action-fest. 2012 is probably a better movie from a script standpoint. Intelligent robots were first built in the very late 2000's. I still want an ABC robot from 1995 for my living room. Many vary in function, often taking jobs considered undesirable by most. Robots are machines constructed for various purposes across the globe.
